Chris Rose - Sea Survival Instructor

Chris is a Yachtmaster Ocean Instructor and RYA/MSA small craft sea survival instructor delivering shore based - day skipper, coastal skipper, yachtmaster practical & theory courses, practical (5 to 7 day) courses and 1st aid courses at the Southern Sailing School in the Solent. www.southern.co.uk.

Delivering own boat tuition, Chris is available for extended cruises, he runs a Contessa 26 based at Grimsby.

Chris is also a First Aid Instructor. He delivers 8 hour Emergency Care in the Outdoors courses which meet the requirements of RYA Cruising Scheme qualifications.

Chris is currently Skipper of the 24m Sail Training ship "Prolific" working off the west coast of Sweden training people for entry into the maritime professions. RYA courses can be arranged onboard "Prolific".

During 30 years of sailing he has developed a particular interest in the subject, stimulated by experience of frequent passages to Holland, Germany and Denmark, from bases in Grimsby & Plymouth and racing in the Irish Sea. Tony Cook - Diesel Engine Course Instructor.

Tony is a professional engineer and qualified RYA diesel engine instructor. He is a commercial yachtmaster with extensive cruising experience in the U.K., Holland, the Baltic, Germany, France &  Spain, and has completed an Atlantic crossing.

Tony has owned a Fairey Atlanta 27, a Moody 33, a Rustler 36 and currently runs an Oyster 40 based in Spain.

After completing the 1 day Basic Sea Survival training you will be awarded RYA/DTp Small Craft Sea Survival Certificate.

After completing the 2 day Race Training Survival Course you will be awarded the RYA/ISA Offshore Racing Crew Certificate.

After completing the Diesel Engine Course you will be awarded the course certificate.

After completing the 8 hour 1^st Aid course you will be awarded the ITC (Immediate Temporary Care) Emergency Care Certificate.

Sea Survival, Offshore Safety, Diesel Engine and First Aid Courses are held monthly

and can also be organised on additional dates upon request.
